“Nusa” represents the islands of Indonesia — a place of warmth, connection, and vibrant curiosity.
“Michi” (道) represents the Japanese path — a journey shaped by intention, care, and the spirit of omotenashi.
Together, NusaMichi means “the path that connects island cultures.”

When I first began traveling through Japan, I was struck by something simple yet powerful:
every small place had a story worth sharing.
A family‑run ryokan with generations of care behind it.
A café owner who roasts beans with quiet pride.
A local guide who knows the hidden corners of a town better than any map.
These experiences stayed with me — not just because they were beautiful, but because they were heartfelt.
At the same time, I noticed how many Indonesian travelers wanted to explore Japan more deeply, yet struggled to find clear, friendly, culturally familiar information.
The warmth was there.
The hospitality was there.
But the connection was missing.
NusaMichi Studio was born from that gap — and from a desire to bridge it.
I believe that stories can travel across cultures when they’re told with respect, clarity, and heart.
